37 weeks update

I am now full term! Our sweet little girl could come anytime now! My doctor has told me she won't come early... but babies always have their own agenda! She is still packing on the pounds- about half a pound a week. She weighs about 6.5 pounds and is at least 20 inches long. She's rolling, stretching and wiggling now. She's also practicing inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, sucking on her thumbs, blinking, and turning from side to side.

We visited the doctor this past Monday. I've gained another 2 pounds in the past two weeks and my doctor said I'm plateauing on my weight gain (yay). Her heartbeat is still strong, about 142! We talked about the carpal tunnel I've been feeling in my right hand... and as Jonathan would say I'm going to "tough it out" until the end! I'm measuring 35 inches, 1 inch larger than two weeks ago. We will start to go every week now-Monday is our next appointment.

She is still getting the hiccups, sometimes more than once a day. And I know it's getting tight in there because her movements are big rolls and stretches. We think we might've felt her foot or hand the other night. We've been rubbing my belly right next to my belly button and when we stop she pushes her little bottom out! She did this three times in a row last night!

We've been going to bed earlier which has been amazing! I'm still sleeping well, just waking early to hand tingling and soreness in my right hip. I miss my ankles too! The swelling hasn't gone down in days! And by the end of the day my hip area is sore... I suppose my joints are loose!

Our baby shower went great this past weekend - I'll post about it soon!

We start our birthing classes this weekend! We've done our 'homework' for it so I can't wait to practice relaxation techniques and hear about the labor and delivery process.

I have a LONG "to do" list that includes finishing the nursery, packing our hospital bag, touring the hospital, finish washing her clothes, and buying some last minute items - all before she arrives! One thing checked off the list is getting the car seat installed! A perk to Jonathan's job is he is able to get both car seat bases installed and checked in the same day! I must admit it's been strange to look behind me and see a car seat but I love it! Jonathan said seeing it in his car made it all seem more real too!

We're excited that we're getting close to her due date! Here's a 37 week belly shot!

What a blessing it all is! Before you know it, the hiccups and wiggles will be burps and giggles!
