Jonathan is slowly getting over the flu... He now has Bronchitis which is keeping us both up at night. I hate to see him sick, but we're thankful it's happened now and not a month from now! The flu and stomach bugs are definitely floating around! He's on meds, we're using a cold humidifier at night and I'm sleeping with earplugs when he's in our room (some nights he's in the guest room). We're praying that his cough will start to go away this week.
We had our 34/35 week check up Monday. Her heartbeat is strong and she's moving around regularly. I measured at 34 inches again... same as last time! We discussed keeping my weight at a steady number from here on out. I've definitely been eating a little bit more so I need to step up the exercising! We also talked about my braxton hicks contractions- he said I'm still okay for now! And my blood pressure was a little elevated but that may be from getting me in quickly because it went down when they checked again. Also I still haven't gotten the flu shot so I got fussed at for that! It's on my to do list this week.
I'm eating cereal, apples, bananas, raw spinach (salads), and meat when I can. I have quite the sweet tooth normally, so I've been trying to curb the desire to eat every piece of chocolate in the house! I'm still getting heartburn here and there, it helps if I sit up for at least 30 minutes after eating or take a tums. I have been getting headaches this week, but it might be because my eyesight isn't up to par right now. I need to get my prescription updated after she arrives!
I do feel like I'm 'waddling' more these days... mostly from the extra weight and my sore feet! If I'm on them too long I start having contractions so I'm trying to balance standing and sitting more. They haven't been painful... I've actually only felt a couple of them (PTL!).
We got the crib Sunday and Jonathan put it together Monday! I'll post an update on the nursery soon. And we've organized the nursery, guest room and garage a little bit more. Diesel and Dozer are slightly afraid of the nursery- I think it's the rocking of the chair they don't like.
And on a funny note... my Dad has requested that I stop using D-day because "we're not going to war!" Apparently it offended him... he thought I was referring to his granddaughter being born as a battle. Haha! So for clarification... it stands for DELIVERY day! Dad suggested using E-day because it's her day or spelling it out. So, here's a photo of me at 35 weeks, 5 weeks from E's day!
And my brother has reminded me that she is due during March Madness... and that Thursdays are a good day for her to come (she's due on a Wednesday). I had to remind him that baby's have their own agenda! And my Dad keeps saying they're going to be tailgaiting in the parking lot!

You are looking great!! I really loved reading everything that you wrote. My appetite has gone up too, especially with chocolate! I need to exercise but it's been too rainy outside for me to do so! I can't believe how many contractions you are having from being on your feet, in my mind that's a good thing though b/c your body is getting ready! AND when you said E's day, does that mean her name starts with an E??!?!? AHHH I can't wait to find out!
Thanks Leah! I'm definitely starting to feel very puffy! I'm taking the contractions as a good thing too... I guess my body wants to be really prepared! And yes, her name starts with an E as well! We'll announce it soon! :) Hope you're doing well!
