34 week update!

I'm now 34 weeks pregnant and can't believe D-day is just six weeks away! She's around 5 lbs. and 20 inches now. Her senses are continuing to improve- when light streaks through your belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And she can now react to simple songs... time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (inside your womb) is starting to slow and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis by the end of this month. Her vernix is getting thicker as well. And her fingernails have probably reached the tip of her fingers. She is the size of a honeydew!

This past week has been a long one! Jonathan has been battling the flu and I've been trying to stay on top of everything at the house, work and nurse him back to health! Unfortunately we never got our flu shots... we just never had the time! He's feeling better but with the flu it always takes awhile.

I've been having a lot more braxton hicks contractions and my lower back is sore by the end of the day. If I stand for too long I get a contraction and if I get up too quickly I get a contraction. So I've been trying to sit/rest/lie down a lot more. The leg cramps are very sporatic now, I don't have nearly as many as I did in the second trimester. Those have been replaced with numbing arms, hands and fingers! And talk about painful... my hands tingle so bad they wake me up! I've had to find different ways to rest my arms for it to go away.

My legs, feet and hands swell nightly now too. And I'm sad to say my wedding rings don't fit. I'm not having trouble sleeping, but I do wake up at 6 and 7 to little kicks and movements. She kicked me in the ribs for the first time a couple nights ago- ouch! I had to roll over to get her to move! And our little girl gets the hiccups daily!

As far as cravings go, I've had an apple a day since the beginning of this pregnancy! And lately, I've been addicted to cereal... a bowl in the morning and night. Yum!

I'm looking forward to the weekend, Jonathan feeling better, getting more done in the nursery and our appointment this upcoming Monday!

Oh no!! So sorry that the swelling has started for you, I'm sure my day is coming! You sound like you are doing great though! I can't believe how many braxton hicks you are having, your body is getting ready!
