32 weeks

I'm now 32 weeks pregnant! I can't believe I'm about to hit the 8 month mark. She is starting to get ready for D-day, weighing about 4 pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. She is practicing the skills she'll need to thrive outside the womb- from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. She's becoming less transparent and more opaque with the fat she's accumulating under her skin. And she's been able to suck her thumb for awhile now!

She's still about the size of a squash...

...a very large squash!

We had another check up this morning, I've gained another pound but couldn't tell you my overall weight gain amount... I fluctuated so much in the first trimester! Her heartbeat is still strong, in the 130's and 140's. She doesn't stay still long enough for the doctor! And I'm measuring at 32 inches... right on schedule!

She's been getting the hiccups daily now, I notice them the most after I've eaten. It's the cutest feeling!

I have had some back pain lately and a lot more stretching is going on in the lower half of my uterus! It's been uncomfortable but I keep reminding myself that it's because she's growing. And today at the doctor's office I had a contraction and didn't know it! The doctor said it was because she had me doing a sit up [basically]. We think she's head down now with her limbs towards my left side and bottom and back in the front.

Still working on the nursery... I promise to make a post on that very soon!
