I know this is weeks late but it's been crazy around here! Over Thanksgiving break we went to Emerald Isle with my family. It was a fun time to be at the beach... it was quiet, sunny during the day and chilly at night.
Here are some highlights from the trip. These are all phone photos, I didn't take too many with my camera... once I upload those I'll post them!
Elizabeth is turning into quite the comedian. She'll do just about anything when she has an audience...
Every night the family played games. It was fun and had everyone laughing a lot. Elizabeth also got to see some of her cousins. Here she is coloring with Rory.
And it wouldn't be a beach trip without some shopping! My Aunt Beth and Elizabeth enjoyed a lot of time together.
On Black Friday we went to Swansboro's Floatilla. If you've never heard of a floatilla, it is a parade of lights at night. Swansboro's took place on the White Oak River. Luckily with the sun setting so early the parade was held early. As we crossed the big bridge on our way, we saw the parade heading to Swansboro! It was really neat. Elizabeth also found Elmo in downtown Swansboro! She had no fear, she went right up to him for a hug and smiled as we took her picture.
And this is Elizabeth's reaction to seeing the floatilla! We saw Beaufort's last year, when Dustin and Ashley were getting engaged but she was only eight months old.
Saturday the girls went shopping in Swansboro. This is one of our favorite stores. My family has been visiting Ms. Russell for a very long time. She remembers us too when we come in!
Matia, Elyssa, Ashley, Shelby and Brittany
My cousin, Liss, gave Elizabeth a very special gift... and she has yet to let it leave her side. Her very own Nemo! Izzy loves Nemo. She calls for him if she can't find him, she asks to watch Finding Nemo all the time, and she hugs and kisses him. A lot.
Thank you, Liss! It is her favorite.
We had a great Thanksgiving and hope you did too!
