We can feel her kick regularly now and I feel her the most when I’m going to bed. Sometimes during the day I’m uncomfortable…she’s in a weird position or I feel pressure like she’s low in my uterus. Luckily she doesn’t stay there long! My mom felt her move for the first time Friday! We had to jiggle my belly a little bit but it worked!
I’ve been sick again with a bad cold and not had much time to rest. I’m starting to get over it slowly! I’ve been sleeping great because I’m sick and exhausted from work. I’m grateful it’s getting chilly here… I love having the bedroom cold and curling up under blankets. I love this time of year!
Symptom-wise I’m doing great. No more nausea (finally!) just a “man I’m really hungry” feeling. And I was having bad acid reflux but I found out what was causing it- tomatoes! I LOVE tomatoes so this has been hard to cut out… but if it means no heartburn it’s worth it. I have noticed that I’ve been a little more stubborn lately too… but that could be from lack of sleep! Oh and I’m still forgetting everything. I have to write down everything because I can’t remember it 3 minutes later (I hope this goes away!).
This past week I signed up for birthing classes and mailed our pre-registration for the hospital. After much debate we have decided to take the “weekend intensive” class because it’s at Cary WakeMed (where I’m delivering), includes the tour and lunch and we can knock it out on a Saturday and Sunday in February. The other class we could take would cut into our “Saturday” (Monday is our Saturdays together because we’re both off of work) and it’s at Raleigh WakeMed… about a 30 minute drive and lasts for six weeks. That’s a lot of back and forth!
This past Sunday I registered at Babies R Us with my sweet friend Kristi! It was wonderful to have a friend that’s been in my shoes just two short years ago. She was really helpful on what to get, what not to get and what’s just a waste of money. It was a lot of information to take in but we had a great time! I still need to do some research on some larger items but we still have time!
On Monday Jonathan and I registered at Target because some things are cheaper there and they had different products. Plus it was nice to get Jonathan’s opinion on what he liked and didn’t like gear-wise (strollers, carriers, etc). And we still debated on the diaper bag! This has been a constant debate for us- it can’t be girly and Jonathan would love to find a camo one! We settled for one with a neutral palette. And we’ve heard the hospital gives you a bag when you leave… so I’m sure that one is basic!
Here’s a 24 week belly shot! I know it’s been too long in between but I’ve just not ‘grown’ very much! I’m wearing maternity clothes but can still wear lots of my regular tops, sweaters and jackets.

you look so good!! Love that belly shot! I've had horrible acid reflux too... I wonder if mine has to do with tomatoes?! It's really Mexican and Italian... both of which have tomatoes so that might be it! But somtimes I even get it after I eat a BAGEL-- the most basic thing ever!
I'm so glad Kristi helped you register, how sweet!
