August was not a great month. Being 8-11 weeks pregnant... those were some very tough weeks! And with the miserable heat... you could find me the on the sofa most days. The toughest was week 11. The anti-nausea medicine they gave me had stopped working days and I felt like I might have had some sort of bug. I couldn't even keep down liquids. On one particular awful day my sweet husband got up every hour during the night to feed me ice chips so I wouldn't get dehydrated. I know he was miserable not getting his sleep with work the next day but I was so grateful!
As August finally came to an end the nausea and vomiting were still going strong. Luckily my next doctor's appointment was August 30th. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was now at 150 beats per minute. When the doctor found the heartbeat for a few seconds the baby decided to move. We heard this big woosh! noise and then the doctor had to move around to find the heartbeat again. She said "that was the baby moving!" It was really neat to hear. When we left I told Jonathan maybe that's why I always feel funny when I first lay down... the baby's adjusting! The doctor said everything looked great and that our next appointment wouldn't be until mid-October. Hopefully we'll get some great photos and maybe find out the sex!

I'm so sorry that you caught some kind of bug. Man the nausea is just AWFUL isn't it??
Isn't hearing the heartbeat so exciting?? Ours was 142, I wonder if we are having the same sex?! Our little one kept moving out of the dopler too so we would only hear the heartbeat for a couple seconds, can't wait till we can feel them moving around in there!
